Kamp-Rite entered the camp gear marketplace in 1999 with a goal to produce unique and innovative solutions for common problems with camping gear. This family run business lives by their unofficial motto, “Spend less time setting up camp, more time enjoying the outdoors,” and it is reflected in their amazing span of ingenious outdoor products.
“A lot of our products that we make are not only unique products, but they are multi-functional,” says Aaron Visgar, CMO of Kamp-Rite Inc. Their flagship product was the tent cot– a self-contained private sleep shelter that stands 11” above the ground to provide comfort and protection from rocks, insects and dampness. It’s still their top seller today. All of Kamp-Rite’s products are multi-functional and offer compact storage. Aaron says the thought process behind any product that Kamp-Rite decides to produce needs to answer these 4 questions: How does it assemble? Is it space saving? Can it cross over into different genres? Does it have more than one use?
“We're always looking for things that are different, that kind of set us apart,” says Aaron. Everyone in the family is involved with the research and development of new products. Aaron says once he gets an idea, he immediately thinks of a way to make that idea better. He thinks about an issue he had while camping and ways to alleviate that issue. One of those issues became what is now called the Kamp-Rite Redi-Tray table. The Redi-Tray is a multi-functional tray table that attaches to almost any outdoor camp chair.

“It was something that I came up with after being at a camp,” explains Aaron. “We were sitting around the campfire trying to eat rib eyes and baked potatoes.” After fighting with the plate and attempting to keep it from falling down while trying to cut the steak, Aaron knew there had to be a better way. After that trip, Aaron researched and discovered that no one had anything like it. “I designed it and produced it,” says Aaron. This type of problem solving is what sets Kamp-Rite apart from other camping gear companies; thinking outside the box when designing new products.
Kamp Rite’s latest product release, the Kamp Cook Station, is having a strong presence in the marketplace due to its versatility. The cook station combines prep, cooking and storage space in one compact unit. Best of all, it folds down to less than three by two feet and weighs only 28 pounds. “The Kamp Cook Station not only makes for a great camping product for a car/truck camper, but for an RV person as well,” says Aaron. It’s perfect for someone that tailgates. Aaron adds, “When setting up big tailgates, the cook station can be a bar area.”
What makes the Kamp Cook Station different from other foldable camp kitchens? One of the things that sets it apart is the roll top tabletop design that clips on and off. “It folds within itself, so it's very easy to set up, but more importantly, it stores in a smaller space,” he explains. Its 54â³L x 17â³W table top is large enough to fit most 17-inch camp cook tops from Coleman, Camp Chef and Blackstone. The windscreen keeps the wind from blowing out your flame and keeps an even temperature on your food.
It’s not just for cooking either. The Kamp Cook Station can be used to store silverware, cups and dishes. Some other models feature a pantry with two zippered storage sections. The removable windscreen transforms the tabletop into a prep table. “Who is the camp kitchen perfect for?” we asked Kamp-Rite. Aaron says it’s for anybody that's looking to cook in the outdoors, and wants a stable, multi-functional workspace. “It's for the organized camper,” translates Aaron.
Kamp-Rite features a myriad of innovated products to make the outdoors a home away from home. “We have a solar LED, light which would be a great item for RV campers as well,” says Aaron. “It's Bluetooth compatible with 650 lumens of output off the main light–and it covers 360 degrees.” The UFO Outdoor Solar LED Light with Bluetooth Speaker features solar panels on the light that delivers a renewable energy source. So, if your boondocking or off the grid, you can have a dependable light source at night. It recharges itself during the day by solar and then at night you've got plenty of power to be able to play music, recharge phones and plenty of lighting. It’s a unique item that crosses over to different marketplaces. “The UFO light could be something used in a Napa Auto Parts, for example, for a guy that's working on his car outside,” tells Aaron, “For emergency situations if there’s a loss of power or aid in disaster relief.”
Kamp-Rite gear combines comfort with convenience. These features equally enhance the experiences of seasoned outdoor enthusiasts, first time campers and backyard adventure seekers alike. Kamp-Rite is constantly striving for innovative improvements to improve any and all outdoor adventures known to mankind.
