This Resort has, for the last 4 decades, been an award winning and much-loved destination for discerning Motorcoach owners. We wanted to find out for ourselves why Mobile RVing referred to this resort as “a sweet slice of beautiful Low-country.”
Hilton Head Island is the perfect vacation destination, and this Resort is nestled in the heart of the Island, a short bike ride to the glorious white sand beaches. Entering the resort, we were greeted by Kathy Chittenden, the Resort Manager and captain of Team Motorcoach. “Customer service is our priority”, she tells us, “my team wants to make your visit with us amazing.”
Not Your Average Day in Paradise…
We passed through the gates of this 50-acre RV park, stopping first at their clubhouse complex. A sparkling, climate-controlled pool and hot tub is surrounded by comfortable lounges, tables and chairs, and during much of the year, delicious lunches and snacks are served at the poolside Snack Shack. Entering the clubhouse, we are greeted by a beautifully appointed lounge area, well-equipped fitness room, modern laundry, and luxurious shower facilities, even a bathtub.
We reluctantly leave this enchanting oasis, to explore the 401 luxury sites located within this resort. “Our sites are individually owned, and each has its own character. We have sites surrounding the clubhouse for those who want to be in the action, sites around the lake or in the forest for those who want a quieter spot. Each lot has privacy and shade,” says Chittenden, as we wind around tree lined loops. Lush landscaping abounds, coaches are tucked into the landscaping, each lot having a large concrete or paving stone pad, with room for lounging and dining, some with elegant outdoor kitchens, all with tables, chairs and an umbrella. The Resort is well maintained, every lot lovingly tended by their owners, many of whom graciously share, making their lots available for guests. “I love driving in, this is not your typical RV resort, it’s like being in the woods, in nature, with wildlife and birds, ospreys, hawks, we have turtles around the lake, it’s so peaceful. There’s a reason we call this paradise.” Chittenden tells us.
But Probably Your Best One Ever
The Resort amenities, in addition to the two-story clubhouse and pool complex, include tennis and pickle ball courts, basketball, shuffleboard, a playground, a dog park and dog wash facilities. The winding roads provide great walking and biking opportunities, with lots of chances to stop and chat with friendly owners, and guests,
and their dogs, along the way. According to Chittenden, they have activities planned year-round, from aqua-fit to yoga, crafts, cards and games, a bike club, book club, stitching club and other activities overseen by the Activity Director and listed in the Activity Calendar. Board games and books are available in the clubhouse in addition to all the outdoor activities, or you could just get cozy in the lounge and watch TV.
And, if you must leave the Resort, you are within walking distance to the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and those white sand beaches (including a dog friendly beach). Check out the new Low-country Celebration Park, a block away from Coligny beach. It will include Sandbox Children’s Museum, a playground with a ship-like theme, walking trails, exercise stations, and additional parking. Grocery stores, restaurants, bike shops, and other essential needs are within a short walk of the Resort. The island has more than 300 incredible restaurants offering a wide range of cuisine, theaters, shopping outlets and unique shops.
Outdoor adventures abound, including kayaking, boating, fishing, dolphin watching, bird watching, and biking on over 50 miles of public multi-use pathways. And then there’s Golf. Hilton Head Island is a golfer’s dream year-round, home to more than 24 championship courses. Don’t forget your clubs!
Hop in your car, drive an hour south, and you are in Savannah. Visit River Street to celebrate with festivities, street vendors and delicious foods, the first Saturday of every month, or wander the tree lined squares and imagine times past. Charleston is located just over 2 hours north, experience historical Charleston City Market and take a relaxing stroll down the colorful Rainbow Road, try pralines, enjoy a vibrant nightlife in the many bars and eateries. Many other destinations await, just check in the front office, and they will point you in the right direction.
Vacationers, Snowbirds, Retirees, and Adventurers Welcome

Just like the resort’s 401 different sites. The Resort attracted Chittenden herself, even though she doesn’t own a Motorcoach! She came to the resort last year from a “typical RV park” in Texas.
