One of the NEWEST and NICEST on the Kenai Peninsula! We are family owned & operated, and strive to create an environment that is relaxing, welcoming, and friendly. Located approximately 150 miles south of Anchorage, we are one block from the KENAI RIVER and less than 5 minutes from downtown SOLDOTNA. We have 35 RV sites, all with electric, water and sewer. Fourteen sites have 50 amp. service. We can accommodate rigs up to 60 feet and most sites are 25 feet wide so you can enjoy the comfort of your slide-outs and still park your tow vehicle. The Kenai River is best known for the world record King Salmon (97 lbs. 4 ozs.) caught by Les Anderson on May 17, 1985. Each year we have a tremendous run of salmon up the river. May, June, July and August are the best months for Kings, Sockeye, Pinks & Coho. Kenai River public bank fishing is just a short walk away. We can also hook you up with a guide for river or ocean fishing. Our campground, with its unique location, backs up to the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. This enormous tract of forests and lakes (nearly 2 million acres) occupies much of the Kenai Peninsula and offers over 200 miles of hiking trails. The Refuge Visitor Center is within a few miles of the campground. The trip from Anchorage to the end of the road at either Seward or Homer is considered one of the top 25 most Scenic Highways in the U.S. There are 32 miles of mountain scenery, mountain streams, wooded mountains, mountain meadows and steep canyons. The Kenai itself is regarded by Alaskans as a priceless jewel. From Anchorage to Soldotna you will pass by the Turnagain Arm, Potter Point State Game Refuge, Chugach State Park, Beluga Point (where you can spot Beluga whales), Alyeska Resort (with a ski lift in summer that takes you to the top where you can see 7 glaciers), Twenty Mile River, Portage Glacier and Summit Lakes. Then you take Highway 1 cut-off toward Soldotna and Homer and go through Cooper Landing and over the bridge that links Kenai Lake and Kenai River. The next 10 miles you drive along the picturesque glacier-colored Kenai River. You will pass the confluence of the Russian River with its ferry and continue through Sterling to Soldotna, your access to the Kenai River, which is teeming with trout, steelhead and several species of salmon going home to spawn. From Soldotna day trips to Homer, Seward, Exit Glacier, Clam Gulch, Kenai National Fjords, Ninilchik, Seldovia, and Kodiak can be taken.
