Halloween Weekend

Grew up going to this campground with my family and grandparents who had a permanent set up, 30 years ago was a really nice place with a great family running it. This time went with my daughter and a group of friends, expected lots of rain. Pros: We were in a field so no problems parking camper or vehicles. With an astromical amount of rain the fields did not get muddy or swampy at all, just very very wet. Halloween activities planned for the whole weekend, terrific for the kids. Free pumpkins for decorating contest, coloring contest, age costume contests, hayride, parade, campsite decorating contests, trick or treating for kids (and adults lol). Fishing lake was nice, daughter caught a fish and saw a very large one she was trying for. Cons: Not the friendliest staff at all. Horribly kept roads, and maneuvering the hills they have is no joke. Our firewood and brand new tarp were stolen. There were a bunch or backhoes driving around all weekend moving dirt around, large piles of dirt all over, don't know what that is about. Not sure what this campground would be like on a regular weekend, but due to the condition of the roads I doubt we will return. They are a huge campground, maybe got too big. I would expect better maintenance from someplace called "resort", making the money I'm sure they are making, and run my a management company. Guess mom n pop is still the way to go.
