The Old Hotel Art Gallery
Local and regional artisans are featured with a visual display that changes monthly. There is something for everyone and every occasion and feature frame and unframed originals and prints, pottery, unique jewelry, stained glass, metal works of art, antiques, collectibles, crafts, handmade clothing, gifts, bird books, tourist information, goodies and much, much more! In 1975, The Old Hotel incorporated as a nonprofit group encouraging the arts and arts education in the community. The building has become the last remaining original railroad associated structure. In 2000, The Old Hotel was placed on the Washington State Register of Historic Places. The 1946 railroad all-steel caboose was added to The Old hotel in 2006. The caboose was designed and built by the Milwaukee Railroad. This rib-side,bay-window rail car is an interpretive artifact of its over 40 years of daily service through Othello's rail yards. It also presents a permanent photo-narrative exhibit of Othello's many years of the Milwaukee Railroad. Today our goals are the generation and promotion of local and regional art, providing art and art education classes for all ages, the preservation of our unique building and our restored railroad caboose.
